  • In its second Literary Landmark designation ceremony, the New Jersey Center for the Book awarded the honor to the Paterson Public Library. In doing so, the NJCB recognized the Paterson Public Library’s achievement as New Jersey’s oldest public library in continuous operation, having been established in 1885.

  • On October 2, 2002 The Center for the Book designated the Newark Public Library a New Jersey Literary Landmark in recognition of its achievements and contributions over the last century to the print culture of New Jersey.
