Beta Phi Mu Fall 2017 Lecture

The Beta Phi Mu Omicron Chapter’s Fall, 2017 Lecture, “Claiming Victory and Moving On,” will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 7:15 pm. A reception will precede the lecture, beginning at 6:30 pm. The event will be held at Rutgers University, Alexander Library, 4th Floor Auditorium, 169 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.

The featured speaker will be Dr. David Lankes, Director of the University of South Carolina’s School of Library and Information Science. Dr. Lankes will present an emerging world view based not on data, or information, but on knowledge and meaning. He will urge that libraries and iSchools embrace an emphasis on knowledge and propose an agenda which focuses on communities and the common good.

The Lecture is co-sponsored by Beta Phi Mu Honor Society-Omicron Society; Rutgers School of Communication and Information, Department of Library and Information Science; Rutgers University Libraries; the SC&I Alumni Association; and the New Jersey Center for the Book. The event is free and open to the public.
