2011 – National Book Festival
The New Jersey Center for the Book’s exhibit at the 2011 Festival featured the children’s book , Meadowlands: A Wetlands Survival Story
by Thomas Yezerski (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2011).The 11th annual Festival, was held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., with President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama serving as honorary chairs. In selecting Yezerski’s work which features the renaissance of the Meadowlands ecosystem, the New Jersey Center for the Book continued its commitment to advancing science literacy among children.
The New Jersey Center for the Book partnered with the NJ Meadowlands Commission, the NY/NJ Harbor Estuary Program and the publisher Farrar, Straus and Giroux, as well as maintained a long-standing partnership with the New Jersey State Society of Washington DC.
